What is frankincense (Boswellia)?
Frankincense or olibanum is the resin of trees of the genus Boswellia. It is burned as incense sticks or resin to scent a room, its essential oil is used in aromatherapy and cosmetics, and Boswellia serrata extract appears in joint supplements.
How to choose it
In essential oil, indicate the species (carterii, sacra or serrata); in a supplement, the percentage of boswellic acids.
