What is devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens)?
Devil's claw or harpagophytum is a plant from southern Africa of which the root is used. The European Medicines Agency records its traditional use for relieving mild joint pain. It is taken in capsules or tablets and is also used in massage gels and creams.
How to choose it
In capsules, check the amount of extract per dose; for external use, a gel or a cream.
