What is milk thistle (Silybum marianum)?
Milk thistle is a plant with purple flowers whose fruits contain silymarin. It is taken in capsules, tablets or extract, often combined with artichoke, dandelion or boldo, and the European Medicines Agency recognises its traditional use for digestive discomfort.
